Usher Here I Stand

If you’re an Usher fan, you may want to hit your local record store early Tuesday morning. Why? Well, the man’s new album is being released worldwide on 27 May 2008, that’s why.

The album, Here I Stand, is Usher’s follow-up to the history-making Confessions that has to date been certified nine times platinum in the United States. That’s nine million copies of the album sold!!! The album spawned four No.1 hit singles – Yeah!, Confessions Pt II, Burn and My Boo – and resulted in Usher Raymond IV spending a total of 40 weeks in pole position on the Billboard 100.

Will Here I Stand be able to match the success of Confessions? Well, it’s early days yet. However, if Love In This Club, the first single off the new LP featuring Young Jeezy, is anything to go by, Usher’s got another smash on his hands. Love In This Club debuted at No. 83 on the Billboard 100. The next week it was up to 51. And the week after that it skyrocketed to No. 1, becoming Usher’s eighth chart-topping single.

But you know what? We reckon it’s only gonna get better. Here I Stand’s second single, Love In This Club Pt II featuring Beyonce and Lil Wayne is already No. 18 on the Hot 100. Could it be next week’s No. 1 hit? We think it’s certainly possible.
